Marty Whitby
Director
M 0408 264 811
Marty Whitby was a founding Director when he and his wife Emily started their business in Toowoomba in 2015. Marty had previously worked in the insurance industry as a loss adjuster for residential and commercial claims and he saw first hand the importance of safety compliance from an insurance perspective. When Marty left the insurance industry, he pivoted his knowledge and training into his own business in the safety and compliance industry. The business thrived as Marty and Emily also drew upon their past experiences as business owners operating various businesses together since 2007.
Over subsequent years, Marty joined forces with trusted business partners and along with his fellow executive team he has further contributed to the ongoing development of the business which was rebranded to Safety Squad in June 2021. Since then the business has quickly established a strong foothold in the fire and safety compliance industry.
Safety Squad has become one of the fastest growing compliance companies in Queensland with expansion into South East Queensland, the Central Queensland Coast region and the North Queensland region around Townsville and Ayr, with more locations on the horizon.
Marty takes great pleasure knowing that Safety Squad fills a gap in the market for quality, attentive compliance services that help clients meet their legislative fire and safety obligations.
Qualified with a QBCC Fire Licence for our commercial fire services and an Electrical Contractor Licence, Marty is both highly knowledgeable and supportive to the team and to our clients who all appreciate his friendly and easy going management approach.
In his down time, Marty adores time spent with his wife, Emily and their children as well as mountain biking.

Adam Duffus
General Manager
M 0429 822 326
Adam Duffus has been General Manager for Safety Squad since its inception. His attraction to the business stemmed from his previous decade of first-hand career experiences of working in real estate and owning his own rent roll where compliance requirements were essential yet he struggled to find a customer-centric company that delivered accurate, prompt compliance certification. Safety Squad was it!
Before Adam entered the world of Safety Squad and real estate prior to that, he gained many years of management expertise as a Harvey Norman Franchisee in both New Zealand and Queensland, which he has since transitioned into his GM role with Safety Squad.
Goal-driven, determined and with excellent business and interpersonal skills, Adam has been instrumental in developing strong relationships with Safety Squad clients and ensuring the company’s fast-paced growth is based on the consistent delivery of quality, prompt, attentive service with immediate Compliance Certification.
Adam is excited about the future of Safety Squad and where it’s going and for his role in helping to make it all happen!
Outside of his hectic work schedule, Adam loves nothing more than spending quality time with his partner and being a dad to four girls. Adam is a keen golfer and enjoys boating and fishing when he has the chance.
