The Safety Squad story starts in 2019 when the company founders joined forces after seeing a gap in the market for a company that not only provided a smoke alarm compliance service for residential rental and for-sale properties, but one that delivered it with exceptional customer service and turnaround time.

There was a need for a more agile service provider to become a trusted partner of real estate agency businesses to help ensure the properties they manage comply with stringent smoke alarm legislation and regulations, and ultimately keep their landlords protected and their tenants safe.

Previously known as Checkmate, we rebranded to Safety Squad in 2021.

Since then, Safety Squad has grown rapidly, partnering with many high-profile real estate agency clients and delivering high quality compliancy services for their managed properties located extensively throughout Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Central Queensland and North Queensland…. with more to come.

Full time Electrician positions available in: 

  • Brisbane / Gold Coast with some regional travel
  • Townsville / Ayr with some regional travel

Safety Squad is a rapidly growing business and we want you to be part of this exciting journey.


About the role:

  • Smoke alarm servicing and upgrades – complying with new legislation by Jan 2022
  • Switchboards and switchboards upgrades
  • RCD installation
  • Inspecting and testing existing and new installation electrical work
  • Domestic wiring and installation of circuits
  • Sound Knowledge of AS/NZS 3000;2018, 3017;2007
  • Plus some further works as required, along with regular servicing and testing of smoke alarms in residential properties


Essential requirements for the role:

  • Open drivers licence
  • Current CPR Resuscitation + low voltage rescue
  • White card
  • Electrical Mechanic licence
  • Previous experience in Electrical work

About the Role:

Safety Squad is a rapidly growing service based business operating in QLD.  

We are looking for a driven, motivated person who is computer savvy and an admin focused Excel master who is wanting to grow with us.


What you will possess:

  • Strong computer skills
  • An Advanced level of Excel – Formula and ability to create reports using data
  • Previous roles with a customer focused organisation
  • A strong ability to pick up new programs
  • History with Xero / ServiceM8 advantageous
  • An excellent communicator both written and verbal
  • The ability to lead a team
  • Previous use of reporting programs like Tablau would help
  • A desire to advance your knowledge both independently and through courses and education
  • Future growth into an executive position
